Main Modern Indo-European Reference Books
The teaching and learning of Proto-Indo-European words and Modern Indo-European’s main grammatical rules are essential for the success of Indo-European as a spoken language. Almost every effort made at Academia Prisca is dedicated to develop its main works:
Grammar
Two main works have been published on Modern Indo-European, as well as reference files:
A Grammar of Modern Indo-European is a reference book on Late Indo-European and North-West Indo-European grammatical reconstruction, including conventions for its use as a modern Indo-European language.
A Tentative Syntax of Modern Indo-European is one step ahead of the grammar in the specialization of our project in developing a Modern Indo-European system, and serves as a bridging book between Late Indo-European syntax (and as such useful for Indo-European scholars) and a full Modern Indo-European system.
FLEXIE: A Conjugator of Modern Indo-European verbs, or How to conjugate verbs in Modern Indo-European, is the result of Fernando López-Menchero’s thorough revision of Late Indo-European verb conjugation, a difficult aspect of the language.
Vocabulary
Our main works regarding Late Indo-European and North-West Indo-European vocabulary can be found in:
Late Indo-European lexicon, by Fernando López-Menchero, is the reference core vocabulary used for Modern Indo-European.
Late Indo-European dictionary-translator is a machine-based dictionary and simple translation system that contains the latest version of the Late Indo-European lexicon.
A revised version of Pokorny’s etymological dictionary of Proto-Indo-European roots.
Lessons
There is an ongoing project by Fernando López-Menchero Díez to publish a Modern Indo-European self-learning language learning course
Oriented towards a step by step learning of grammatical rules and vocabulary, and dealing with situations of modern-day life in a way similar to commercially-available courses, it is designed as the core of what should become the main (self-)learning course of Modern Indo-European.
A similar, less ambitious introductory course was developed by Mario Basile, but it is slightly outdated and will be superseded by the new version.
Texts
Modern Indo-European texts have also been published as small samples of the language.
Eurōpājóm, a collaborative Wiki Web site written in Modern Indo-European. Other sites for early PIE dialects have also been arranged.
